Violet, the final painting in this series, is acceptance.

Forward Movement is not about leaving grief behind. It is about learning to walk beside it.

Rich layers of violet veil and reveal the colors that came before, allowing fragments of crimson, shadow, and light to emerge like memories that continue to shape us. Thick textures and weathered surfaces speak to a life altered by loss, where healing is neither smooth nor linear, but built one layer at a time.

Throughout the composition, movement replaces chaos. What was once fractured begins to find rhythm. The gestures no longer struggle against one another but coexist, suggesting acceptance without forgetting. The traces of red remain—not as open wounds, but as evidence of love that refuses to disappear.

As the final work in a six-part journey through grief, Forward Movement does not offer closure. Instead, it offers something more honest: the quiet courage to continue. It acknowledges that while loss becomes part of us, so too does resilience. We do not return to who we were before; we become someone new, carrying both sorrow and hope into whatever comes next.

This painting is the final color in the spectrum, but it is not the end of the story. It is the beginning of living forward.
